Reading Time: < 1 minuteINDIANAPOLIS – enVista, a leading supply chain consulting and IT services firm, today announces that it will donate $3,000 to the American Logistics Aid Network (ALAN) for the delivery of aid to those affected by the recent hurricanes in Texas, Florida and Puerto Rico.
ALAN was founded by several professional and trade associations who came together after Hurricane Katrina to help provide humanitarian relief. Today, ALAN comprises hundreds of supply-chain businesses who stand poised to respond in the event of disasters. They are experts in transportation, warehousing, cold storage, and distribution, and can help locate and move goods from suppliers to affected communities rapidly and efficiently.
“The devastation experienced by those in the wake of the recent hurricanes is heartbreaking. The people of Texas, Florida and Puerto Rico are in our thoughts, and enVista’s donation to ALAN is just one of the ways we plan to show our support and aid in relief efforts,” said enVista CEO Jim Barnes.
Donations to ALAN are used to keep the organisation poised and ready to act during times of crisis; enable year-round outreach efforts linking businesses, government, and relief organisations; and support its work matching urgent relief needs on the ground with potential providers.
The donation to ALAN represents just one of enVista’s many philanthropic efforts. enVista supports charitable organisations on the local, national and international levels, maintaining company-wide philanthropic partnerships with Outreach, Habitat for Humanity and Water for People.
enVista’s recent ALAN donation following its inaugural supply chain and transportation executive summit, FUEL 2017. For each conference presentation survey completed by FUEL attendees, enVista pledged to donate $10.
