Title: Target Is the One to Watch: How to Build a Successful Omnichannel Strategy
Speaker: Jim Barnes, enVista
Time: Thursday, September 16 at 8:00 a.m. – 8:40 a.m. EDT (40 minutes)
Abstract: The retail industry has been chasing Amazon for years, but more attention should be paid to Target. While the retail giant may have been on the ropes just five years ago, Target recently announced that 95% of its eCommerce packages are handled through its store infrastructure. Target has successfully made its stores central to the customer experience when many are (incorrectly) declaring that retail is dead. In this talk about the intersection of omnichannel approaches and logistics, we will look at the decisions Target made to achieve its current runaway success and what that means for retailers/brands building out their infrastructure. We will discuss how Target’s unique position is amplified in comparison to the Amazon model.
