INDIANAPOLIS (February 14, 2023) – enVista, global consulting, managed services and material handling automation firm, today announces that Food Logistics has named enVista’s Christopher Harkema, Jack Martin and Rebecca Turner winners of the 2023 Rock Stars of the Supply Chain award, which recognizes influential individuals in the industry. Food Logistics is the only publication exclusively dedicated to covering the movement of product through the global cold food supply chain.
Christopher Harkema, enVista senior director of technology, has nearly 20 years of experience in the supply chain industry, 11 years of which have been spent in enVista’s Labor Management Practice. With his team of 16 industrial engineers, Harkema has led multiple labor management system implementations for national food and beverage brands such as Nestlé Purina PetCare. Harkema is certified as a Project Management Professional from PMI and is Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certified.
Jack Martin, supply chain consultant, and Rebecca Turner, transportation consultant, are new professionals in the supply chain industry and have both quickly excelled in their consulting work across the cold food supply chain. Martin has played a critical role in the food safety of his clients by helping implement an analytical database and data visualization tool that enables clients to perform data investigations on products at impacted locations. He already has an ever-growing technical skillset with Alteryx, Python and AWS Redshift.
In the last year, Rebecca Turner has acted as a leader of a national fast food restaurant chain’s food safety traceability team, supporting cold food manufacturing and distribution parties. She has also excelled in supporting the education and training of distribution center resources to meet the needs of her clients’ food safety initiatives. She is recognized throughout enVista as a motivated leader who is consistently delivering quality results to clients.
enVista’s CEO, John Stitz, said, “Each year it is an honor to recognize enVista associates for the hard work they do for our food and beverage clients. Whether industry veterans or new professionals, our rock stars consistently deliver innovative and long-lasting results for national food and beverage brands, maintaining quality control and trust with our clients and their customers through critical food safety initiatives. A special congratulations to Christopher, Jack and Rebecca for being 2023 Rock Stars of the Supply Chain.”
Editor-in-Chief of Food Logistics and Supply & Demand Chain Executive, Marina Mayer, said, “Not all rock stars are famous musicians. There are several rock stars right here in the cold chain, promoting workforce development, solving supply chain disruptions, mitigating risks and helping to heal the supply chain,” Mayer continued, “Many of these winners are actively involved in understanding customers’ needs, creating problem-solving solutions, ensuring the safe transport of cold food and beverages and adopting sustainable measures. The words used to describe them range from strategic, motivated and dedicated to passionate, educator and transformative.”
