INDIANAPOLIS – enVista, a leading supply chain consulting and IT services firm, will consult with attendees at its booth and share expert insight and supply chain best practices during two educational sessions at ProMat, a premier material handling, logistics and supply chain industry event which takes place March 23-26 in Chicago.
enVista offers extensive supply chain expertise and solutions across the entire supply chain that enable companies to optimize their operations and improve commerce, including: supply chain assessments, supply chain network design, facility design build, workforce management, Lean Six Sigma, transportation solutions, retail solutions, Microsoft Dynamics AX ERP, IT solutions, and more. enVista also brings some of the industry’s deepest experience selecting and implementing warehouse management systems, transportation systems and workforce management systems.
enVista President and CEO Jim Barnes says, “It is very exciting to see all of the latest systems and automation at ProMat. However, in order to drive optimal results, it is critical that supply chain leaders first determine where and how to make process improvements and then assess the technology that can support those changes. We look forward to helping supply chain decision-makers optimize their operations, not only within the four walls of their facilities, but also across their entire supply chain networks, from source to consumption.”
Barnes will host two educational sessions during the show:
- WMS vs. WCS: Where and When to Apply Warehouse Management Systems and Warehouse Control Systems for Optimal Results – March 23 (2:15 p.m. Central in Theater B). This session will discuss how Warehouse Management Systems enable companies to allocate inventory based upon demand, whereas Warehouse Control Systems manage the flow of materials traveling on material handling equipment within the warehouse. Session attendees will learn how to compare the functionality available in each system, what each system does best and why, how to determine if one or both systems are right for your operation, and how to integrate both systems to maximize performance.
- Inventory Flow: The Key to Network Strategy Design Success – March 24 (10:30 a.m. Central in Theater E). This session will discuss Network Strategy Review and Redesign. These projects are fairly straightforward, low-cost and require relatively little time and resources. That said, the most critical and difficult piece is reviewing the flow of inventory throughout the supply chain. Only by determining demand patterns and variability by channel, location and time can leaders accurately determine where to best place facilities, where and when to outsource fulfillment and how to optimize transportation to meet long-term requirements. In this session, attendees will find out the steps necessary to get started, learn best practices and hear real examples of companies that have successfully redesigned their supply chain network to significantly improve inventory fulfillment and increase sales.
“In an industry that is constantly evolving, enVista is pleased to offer insight that will allow businesses’ supply chain operations to keep pace by being optimized in the warehouse and beyond,” said Barnes. “In these sessions, we will tackle topics and challenges that are prominent in the industry, shedding light on opportunities for improvements to increase efficiency for businesses looking to save money and time. We look forward to sharing our insights on these topics with ProMat attendees again this year.”
